FAQ

Why is your branding a fox?

Several reasons. One is in both Western and Eastern folklore, foxes are portrayed as keen, resourceful characters, which I feel are qualities necessary for a freelancer. The nine-tailed fox in Eastern folklore especially is a shapeshifter, one that can assume many forms, and represents how I feel from one job to the next, as my interests (and subsequent work) tend to be very different from one another. The curious and playful nature of the fox resonates with me as a person and plus… they’re just cute.

Why not a raccoon or a snake? They’re also shapeshifters, aren’t they?

I wanted to choose an animal that specifically had representation in both Western and Eastern folklore, given my own American-born-Chinese heritage. Also, while I love snakes, they come with some bad connotations that I’d rather do without.

Why does your fox have 3 tails?

In nine-tailed fox mythology, one common theme is that the more tails the fox has, the older and wiser the fox spirit. I am just out of college and have 3 main trades that I specialize in, therefore I chose to depict my fox with 3 tails. As time progresses and I learn more and more, perhaps the fox will also evolve more tails…

How long did it take you to put this site together?

About 16 hours, give or take.

What sort of ambient music do you play at events?

I play soft music such as Einaudi or Yiruma, mixed in with a little classical, and some older songs such as Fly Me to the Moon.
